Common Logic for an RDF Store

نویسنده

چکیده

The advent of commercial tools that support reasoning and management of RDF data stores provides a robust base for the growth of Semantic Web applications. There is as yet no analogous set of tools and products to support advanced logic-based applications. This article examines issues that arise when seeking to combine the expressive power of Common Logic with the scalability of an RDF store. Index Terms — Common Logic, RDF, Semantic Web, higher order logic.

Policy-Based Access Control for an RDF Store

Specialized stores for RDF data are essential parts of many Semantic Web applications. Current RDF stores have primarily focused on efficiently storing and querying large volumes of data and little attention has been given other features common to many database systems, including how information can updated and maintained or access to data controlled. The problem is complicated by the fact that...

Jena Property Table Implementation

A common approach to providing persistent storage for RDF is to store statements in a three-column table in a relational database system. This is commonly referred to as a triple store. Each table row represents one RDF statement. For RDF graphs with frequent patterns, an alternative storage scheme is a property table. A property table comprises one column containing a statement subject plus on...

Supporting Scalable, Persistent Semantic Web Applications

To realize the vision of the Semantic Web, efficient storage and retrieval of large RDF data sets is required. A common technique for persisting RDF data (graphs) is to use a single relational database table, a triple store. But, we believe a single triple store cannot scale for large-scale applications. This paper describes storing and querying persistent RDF graphs in Jena, a Semantic Web pro...

Jena Property Table Design

A common approach to providing persistent storage for RDF is to store statements in a three-column table in a relational database system. This is typically referred to as a triple store. There are many variations on this approach, e.g., storing literals and URI’s in a separate table referenced from the triple store. But, the basic approach is that each RDF statement maps onto a single row in a ...

Unification of Geospatial Reasoning, Temporal Logic, & Social Network Analysis in an RDF Database

This paper is about a new type of event database that enables efficient reasoning about things, people, companies, relationships between people and companies, and about places and events. The event database is built on top of a scalable distributed RDF triple store that can handle literally billions of events. Like objects, events have at least one actor, but usually more, a start-time and poss...
